California Tax Refund: What is the deadline to receive a payment of up to $1,050?

We have reached the end of California's middle class tax refund. So far, more than $9 billion has been issued to more than 7 million people since mid-2022, with very few left to receive funding of up to $1,050 . For anyone who has not received their payment yet, the final payment will be sent by February 22, 2023 .

95% of all middle class tax refund ( MCTR ) payments were expected to be issued by the end of 2022, according to the California State Franchise Tax Board (FTB) .



The rest would be distributed by January 15, 2023, and an estimated 23 million California residents were deemed eligible to receive the check worth up to $1,050, based on their income, marital status and household size, according to CNET.

If you are one of the 23 million who have not yet received an MCTR, please check your status and contact the California State Franchise Tax Board via their website. Where's my refund? This is the fastest and easiest way to keep track of your refund. Systems are updated once every 24 hours.

You can call the IRS to check the status of your refund. However, wait times to speak with a representative can be long. But you can avoid the wait by using the automated phone system. Follow the prompts in the message when you call. If you are eligible, you will automatically receive a payment. Payments are expected to be issued between October 2022 and February 2023. Some taxpayers will receive their payment on a debit card. FTB has partnered with Money Network to provide distributed debit card payments
